Morning team!
Been running the Titan I program free sample for a few weeks and last night decided to dive in and become a premium member. Today I started the Titan I template on the app and ran into an issue. In the template it says the rep scheme for Squats and Strict Press is: 6 reps @ RPE 6, then RPE 7 then RPE 8. However in the app, the “Rx” line has the RPE at 7, then 8, then 9.
Seemed to me like the app was incorrect so I went with the template, but wanted the official answer.
Also, as far as the training week goes, the instructions says one day for a 30min monostructural conditioning, and a separate day for the “Longer MetCon”. Would this longer MetCon be the 16min EMOM I see in the GPP? If so, should I add anything else that day?
Finally, any harm in adding a 30min zone 2 bike to one of the rest days? Sorry, I know this is a lot, but new to the BBM programming and all.
Thanks so much!
Also, I am an Active Duty Army PA-C who trained under Drs. Baraki (both) at Bliss, and have recently pivoted and am starting Med School at USUHS next month, so thanks to you both for being great teachers and mentors!
Love the pod, one of the resources I’ve used to stay up to date and progress my learning.

Typically the guidance here is to follow the template as it is usually the correct/intended version. I have several BBM templates and most of them have many discrepancies from app to template. It’s quite frustrating to have to flip back and forth to ensure you’re actually doing the prescribed work. I am a huge BBM fan and long time supporter so I hate to complain, but it seems like it would be pretty easy to go through each template and ensure the information matches. I’ve reached out to support in the past only to be told “provide specific examples and we will look into it.” How about just make sure they match!?

Hey Johnathan,
Thanks for the post and for joining Premium. We really appreciate the support.
For the Titan I template, here’s what I see for the strict press and squat on week 1 in the Excel:
6 reps @ RPE 6, 6 reps @ RPE 7. 6 reps @ RPE 8. No Back off sets.
This is the same as it is in the app. I don’t see any @ 9 sets on Titan 1 on the app. If you see that, can you screenshot it and send it to support@barbellmedicine.com? We’ll get to it right away. Sorry for any confusion. To your point though, the Excel sheet is what I would default to if there is a disagreement.
For the training, the 30 min monostructural stuff would be like go for a run, row, or bike for 30 min. I’m not sure what you mean by longer metcon as a separate day. Can you clarify?
I dont generally have a problem with people who are reasonably well trained adding more moderate intensity conditioning. That said, I’m not sure what your previous training was and how it compares to this. I probably wouldn’t add 30 min of z2 on all rest days from the get go. Rather, I’d add 1 session and then see how you respond to the program for a week and go from there.
Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the response!
I actually emailed support at the same time I posted this, since I wasn’t sure which would be the more appropriate approach, and Leah was super helpful in explaining that the template is what to go off and she updated the app!
On page 4 there is a day by day breakdown and for Saturday it states “Longer MetCon”. I wasn’t sure if this was meant to be only the 16min EMOM, or that in addition to a Monostructural Conditioning, or something else?
Sorry, I should have been more clear, I was only looking to add 30min of z2 to one of the two rest days, not both. Without going too in depth, I think I’m rather well trained. Generally run my 2mi for our fitness test in 15min or so, wanting to get faster while maintaining strength.
Really appreciate your time and help!
Yea, that descriptor is for people who are training at a box and want to do the gym’s programming vs. the template’s/ The longer MetCon would be the 16 min EMOM in your example.
The added z2 stuff would be fine!

Easy enough, I appreciate the help!
