Training program reccomendations

Hello!

I love your programs but today I am seeking training advise on behave of my wife. She currently weights about 255 and suffers from chronic lower / mid back pain easily brought on my daily activities, such as emptying the dish washer etc. Due to her work schedule and commute regularly attending PT isn’t practical and remote personal training in a budget no-no.

I was hoping you might provide some recommendation, perhaps a template? I am hoping to find something that is around 2-3 days a week that could be done at home. Our goals would be to improve her daily life and allow greater functioning without pain.

Thank you!

Thanks for the post, though I wish it were under better circumstances. This can be a challenging situation, as you know.

Before I reply more thoroughly, a few questions:

  1. How does your wife feel about starting an exercise program? In other words, has she expressed interest?
  2. Do you have any fitness equipment at home?
  3. If no (to question number 2), is there any option to go to a gym?

  1. She understands the importance of an exercise program but wouldnt go to a gym.
  2. We don’t have much equipment but could purchase some simple items.

Understood. It would be nice to have access to a barbell and a rack, with a dream scenario including an adjustable bench, pulley system, and adjustable dumbbells.

I do wonder if she’d be up for starting something like our at-home template. She/you can try two-weeks for free. I would recommend reading through the accompanying article and text to get an idea of how to pick/modify exercises:

Thank you! I’ll look that up
