Using current templates following master bundle progression

Hi Doctors,

I understand that the Master Template is no longer for sale. How are the templates in that bundle, such as GPP Hyp or End, different from the similarly named templates currently sold like Hyp I or End 1?

The introductory tab of the Master Bundle suggests these progressions:

  1. The Novice: Novice LP> Strength Template > GPP hypertrophy > Strength Template> GPP Hypertrophy> Strength Template.
  2. The Intermediate: Strength Template> GPP Hypertrophy> Strength Template> Time Crunch > GPP Endurance > GPP Hypertrophy > Strength Template
  3. The Competitor : Strength Template > GPP Hypertrophy > Strength Template > Time Crunch > Strength Template> GPP Hypertrophy> Strength
    Template.

Instead of using the templates in the master bundle, do you think it’s appropriate to follow these progressions but replace the master templates with their corresponding current templates? For example, Hyp 1 instead of GPP hyp and Strength 1 instead of 12-week strength.

Thanks!

Rafa,

The progressions there are reasonable despite significant differences in the templates themselves. That said, I would not follow that progression if feedback suggests a different one.

As mentioned in one of our other discussions, it’s challenging (if not impossible) to predict your response to a given program and I would not aim to project training needs or progress that far out. For those reasons, I would not advise pre-purchasing templates for multiple years in advance and planning to cycle them. Instead, I would favor going through one a at a time, seeing what you like and how you respond, and going from there bit by bit.

I would continue to recommend PB 1 or the 3-day Gen S/C II template for you. This is unlikely to change. I would see how you do one program at a time before trying to plan years of training in advance.

Thanks Dr. Feigenbaum! I probably just need to take action and train since I tend to worry about abstract details and overthink it lol

Relatable lol. Would definitely like to see how you respond to some training first before making predictions/recommendations on what’s next.

We’ll be here!
