Weight distribution towards the outside of foot

I was experimenting with foot placement during the squat and noticed if I keep my knees a bit more out then the weight shifts to the outside of the foot a bit. This seemed to create a bit more tension in the bottom position, which seemed to make the weight easier to lift. Is this to be avoided for a more even weight distribution, even if it feels a bit looser?

I think that cues often result in a feel that is different from what’s really happening, particularly if things are different than how you normally do them. I think maintaining balance across the whole foot, keeping the knees in line with the feet, and not letting the medial aspects of the ankle and foot evert at the bottom tend to improve efficiency.
