Felt really fucking good today, unfortunately I was still feeling the effects of Monday, but regardless the bar felt light & explosive. Just some leftover soreness that will be gone by Friday.

Next Monday I will most likely be at 95% of my ‘normal’ with continued low stress week & weekend rest.

Tentatively thinking of switching from 3X5 to 4X4 for next training cycle…I could probably smash 4 plate squats & deads by the end for volume work. Bench will most likely end up in 275ish range.

Also the benches at my gym are ass…the bars have absolutely ZERO knurling, they’re bent, smooth, and the benches feel like they have vasline on them…seriously considering throwing down a couple grand and building my own home gym.

Anyways just feeling good & explosive. Excited to get back into developmental training. Next cycle I will be very strict with sleep as that is the only thing that’s holding me back…and it’s just an improvement of bed-time habits. And also doing a consistent ~300 calorie surplus rather than caloric cycling (I asked Jordan about this).

Need some adjustment still to singles: I always get an “oh shit” feeling when I unrack the weight…just need more exposure and I can easily lift far more weight at this current level.

Goals for next cycle (~5 weeks):

SQ - 475X1 @8 (current: 425X1 @9)
DL - 500X1 @8 (current: TBD)
B - 315X1 @8 (current: 275X1 @9.5)

(3/6/2020)

Comp. DL - 275X4 @6; 315X4 @7; 365X1 @7

T&G Bench - 185X4 @6; 225X4 @8.5

CGBP - 165X7 @6; 185X7 @7

Beltless Squat - 225X7 @7; 275X3 @IMPOSSIBLE

Deload failed. Felt painful & achy. On to the next cycle.

(3/9/2020)

Squat - 335X5 @7.5; 335X5 @7.5; 335X5 @8

2 Ct. Bench - 195X4 @7; 205X4 @8; 215X4 @9; 215X4 @9; 215X3 @9.5; 205X4 @9

Block Pulls (off of 45 lb Bumper Plates) - 225X7 @7; 245X7 @7; 255X7 @8; 255X7 @8

Felt good, auto-regulated, didn’t push too hard. It felt like the right level of intensity. Very excited about this training cycle - will make enormous progress.

Was sick today so the workout felt like a grind. Fatigue would set on very quickly and it would take me another 4 minutes or so to get my breath back for the next set. Numbers a bit low in general, just because of that, but hopefully I should return to normal Friday.

For how bad I felt with each passing rep, I’m surprised & satisfied with having pulled through despite my body begging me to go home. Nice.
