Blood pressure fluctuation

Hello,

I am male 27 years old, 170cm 78kg, waist 77cm. So, I measured my blood pressure at home out of curiosity and got a result of 143 diastolic and 72 systolic. This was at a moment where i was walking up and down my appartment and I had stress from another factor. Then, I read your article about BP and the fact that you need to take a resting measurement. I sat down for one minute and then took again, my bp had dropped but again was elevated. I did many bak to back measurements and the BP was always dropping until after 5 minutes of sitting relaxed it ended up at 118/58. Is this a normal result?

Thank you.

This is common. I cannot say whether it is “normal” in your case just based on this alone; I’d recommend following the method described in the article to get better data regarding your average resting blood pressure.

Hello doc,

I’ve been monitoring my blood pressure for a while (everyday) and it is always below 120 over 80. I’ve followed your article about blood pressure. I am 28yo. Should I keep doing it? Is it an age number where the article applies?
