Caffeine

I understand that each person is different so it’s hard to give a straight answer but I figured I would try anyway.

I’m not someone who like stimulants , I stay away from caffeine as much as possible as it leads to anxiety, though I do end up taking in small amounts via chocolate milk and chocolate candy. However I’ve been drinking these “olipops” lately ( basically a soda replacement , less calories, sugar etc) and they have a cola I’d like to try. It looks like 1 can contains 50mg of green tea caffeine , I’m wondering if that’s enough to notice an increase in heart rate? I didn’t know if there’s a minimum an adult would have to take in before noticing any side effects.

Interestingly, caffeine typically does not increase heart rate significantly in habitual users. if someone is sensitive to caffeine or caffeine-naive, they may see a small increase. For non sensitive, non caffeine-naive individuals, the dose for caffeine leading to unwanted side effects is pretty high, though individuals vary significantly.

Thanks for the response Jordan! I think I’ll start with half a can, see how that goes and then gradually go to a full can to make sure I’m ok with it.
