I recently had a physical and my blood test showed my creatinine as 1.07, which seems to be the normal range. Based on reading a paper or article some time ago by Dr Feigenbaum, I thought that my creatinine levels (in blood) would be elevated. Does this indicate anything, such as that I’m not taking enough creatinine? I currently take 5g per day.
Steady-state serum creatinine level represents the balance between Creatinine production (from skeletal muscle turnover) and Creatinine excretion (which depends on your kidney function). It can therefore be elevated if you carry a higher amount of skeletal muscle mass, OR if you have impaired kidney function (as well as a few other less common reasons).
Creatinine is not the same as Creatine (which is what you are supplementing with). Creatine is metabolized into creatinine and is excreted through the kidneys. 5 grams of creatine per day is plenty.
Therefore, if you take creatine, train, have healthy kidneys, and still have a creatinine level within the normal range, it probably means you aren’t that jacked, but isn’t anything to worry about from a medical standpoint.
No, I’m not that jacked as my normie creatinine will attest to apparently. Maybe this could be another way for bros to one-up each other: humblebragging on their serum creatinine.

A medically professional way of saying ‘do you even lift?’.
