Hi Docs. I understand that it is advisable to keep animal saturated fat intake to ~10% total daily calorie intake to reduce the risk of ASCVD. However, I believe you also say that dairy saturated fat (except butter) has protective benefits instead. Any reason why dairy saturated fat is different to animal saturated fat?
Reason why i’m asking is because when buying milk and yoghurt I have always chosen the lite option. But if the saturated fat in dairy has protective benefits then I will start buying full cream option instead. Thank you doctors.
