I’m currently on TRT, but have some question about the need due to incorrect testing prior to diagnosis. My levels were low enough to warrant treatment. I did have some of the common symptoms as well. However, it was only tested once and the other aspects, LH/FSH were not checked until after starting TRT.
I’ve been considering stopping and verifying the need with proper testing. I’ve read online a few places about ways to jump start this process to minimize the time to get your body back to it’s natural levels of testosterone production. This process involves either a SERM or hCG followed by a SERM. Is this approach a valid approach? I plan on discussing this with my endocrinologist, but just want to know whether it’s even worth bringing up.
Also, how much time does it usually take to get to a point where you can retest and verify whether there is a need for the treatment?
