Recently one of my clients stated that she is a part of ID Life (another MLM) and is participating in a weight loss challenge they are having. I have been coaching her for months. I program for her and we spend 1/2 hour together twice a week on her resistance training routine. I have given her cardio homewok and also set targets for her calorie and protien intake (based on what I learned at your 2 day seminar). She has seen weight loss, however she is always looking for that “magic pill”. I let her know that my stance surrounds compliance to the program, exercise and nutrition and that will yield her the best results. She said she would love to know my opinion on “ID Life” and their vitamins / supplements. I said that simply speaking, in this country we do not see many people with vitamin deficiencies and that supplements do not show strong evidence regarding weight loss. But that I would research it more for her. I found no studies supporting ID Life and their claims, however I found this link on the web that supports my stance:
My question is, do you feel this is a good starting point (and link) and could you offer any others that may show scientific evidence regarding the topic of vitamins / supplements for weight loss. I don’t want her to waste time and money on things that have no supporting evidence. I of course realize that she will ultimately do what she wants but since she did ask my opinion I want to deliver the best information so she can formulate her own as well.
Thanks Jordan
