New tattoo so question about nutrition

I just got a new tattoo on my hand and since its on my hand the risk of infection versus taking a week off is pretty self explanatory. Ill do conditioning (Running) but wont be in the gym for about a week-ish…give or take, So im thinking about reducing my caloric intake by about 10-15% im currently in RECOMP macros. Does anybody have any input?

Seems reasonable, depends how many calories you expend in the gym (which we can only very roughly estimate anyway). If anything you might lose an insignificant amount of fat mass.

You could do that. Although, I’m not sure it really matters too much what you do nutrition wise for two weeks, unless you go HAM or starve yourself. It’s just not that exact of a thing…

I ended up just decreasing by about 10% until my tattoo scabbed over. Which was faster than I thought, unfortunately I can’t use straps for a few more weeks so it looks like my sumo is going to be limited by grip strength for a bit.

mmmmm look realy nice!

It sounds like you already have a good plan in place, so I would just suggest being mindful of what you eat. Make sure that the food you are eating is nutritious and high in protein so you can still get the necessary nutrients to support your body while you are taking a week off.

Hi there! Congratulations on your new tattoo! It’s great that you’re taking precautions to make sure it heals properly. Reducing your caloric intake might help, but it’s important to remember that you still need to maintain a balanced diet. I recently read an article about Iranian Tattoos. These guys recommend ensuring you’re getting enough of the macronutrients (carbs, proteins, and fats) your body needs. Doing light cardio, such as running, should be fine. Additionally, make sure to drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep to help with the healing process. Good luck!
