Recommendations for Caffeine Consumption for Individuals with GPA

Hey guys,

I’ve kept up plenty with your information on training, nutrition and health and have a more complex question about caffeine consumption. I am in the unique scenario in that I was duped into getting genetic testing done and found out that I do have the slow metabolizer genotype of CYP1A2 gene. I have also been dx with granulomatosis with polyangitis and am being treated with it with rituxan and avacopan. Is there any reason to believe that I should limit my caffeine consumption (or increase it?) more than the standard recommendation due to the diagnosis, treatment regimen, or the gene testing indicating a slow metabolism of caffeine? Any info is greatly appreciated and keep up the good work because all of your material is fantastic

I have no concerns with respect to any particular amount of caffeine intake and GPA, nor would I worry about this genetic finding. Simply consume it (or not) based on your preferences and how you feel.
