UREA Parvum and Doxycycline under the bar

Hello
I am a male, 27 years old.
I have been diagnosed with UREA Parvum in a PCR through a urine test. At August 2018 the results were “detected low”, and now, October 2019, “Positive”.
My doctor said that it doesen’t need a treatment. I have read a lot of opinions stating otherwise. What I do know, is that in terms of symptoms, I definately started to go to the toilet more often. I need to pee more than usual. I have no idea whether it’s related or not. No other symptoms and no pain.

I understood that the treatment is Doxycycline 100mg twice a day (200mg/day) for 15 days. My doctor is against the treatment, but I can get the antibiotics elsewhere.

Question is, do you think it needs to be treated?
And if it is, is the Doxycycline the correct treatment?
And, very important, does the Doxycycline affect training? Is it okay to train heavy under the use of it?

Thank you very much

Treatment is typically not necessary for patients who are colonized with this organism but do not have clinical disease. We will not comment on the other questions (or whether you have “clinical disease”) with respect to your individual situation.

Doxycycline does not cause significant issues with training.

Thank you very much for the reply,
Just to make sure - if I start taking the Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 15 days, shall I reduce training volume / intensity, or shall I just continue as usual?
My experience with antibiotics is only with Penicilin and Amoxicillin and I actually felt very good at training. Very well may be a placebo effect by the fact that 48 hours prior to that I felt like I’m going to die from the sinusitis / throat infection.

Thanks again

We would not make any changes to training based on someone taking doxycycline.

Thank you very much for the help
