vegitarian + Whey

is it possible to get all of your protein needs through whey and BCAAs? I’m (mostly) vegetarian and I can’t eat so many eggs a day to fill my protein requirements.

Sure, but you also could do Greek Yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, etc. if you’re going to do whey.

That said, we’re coming out with a pea protein based “vegan” protein supplement that has the same amino acid profile as our whey. Might be something you’re interested in.

whey shakes are easier for me than most other milk products. Do you also like kefir? I mix in hemp protein with kefir but im not sure if im gettin in all my bcaa’s

I don’t like or dislike kefir. I would just take BCAAs instead of that other junk if I was concerned with my BCAA intake.

But it tastes so good, and thickens up shakes more so than milk.

  1. What is your take on hemp protein? Yay, nay, doesn’t matter?

  2. What about soy protein?

I believe you said animal sources are better, correct me if I’m wrong. I was just wondering what you think of these.

I don’t think I would consider hemp and kefir junk… there are far worse things to put in your body. My whey has bcaas in it- should I also suppliment bcaas as well? does it count towards my daily protein intake?

Different strokes for different folks. I don’t particularly love kefir’s taste.

I don’t think hemp protein is a useful source of protein supplementation, but soy protein can be good if it’s had some amino acids added to it.

I don’t think my barometer of “usefulness” would be, “Are there worse things to put in my body?”

All protein sources have BCAASs in it, so the only reason you’d need to supplement is if your protein sources do not contain substantial concentrations of essential amino acids.
