walking reduces postprandial glycemia

I see a lot of talk lately on the twittersphere about how walking after a meal significantly improves postprandial glycemic excursion and insulin. Is this really a big deal? If energy balance drives weight gain or loss, then should I care that walking after a meal improves post prandial glucose levels and insulin?

For individuals who are training and not overweight (and diabetic) this is not useful. For folks who are, there is additional evidence that being more active can be useful in the underlying biochemistry.
