Wieght loss goal?

Good afternoon, I’ve been running BBM programs for a while (currently running G&S 2), but first nutrition/body comp question.

Im 39 years old. 5’9 inches and just weighed in at 181 pounds and 35.9 inch waist. This is down from 192 pounds and a 38 inch waist in may of this year when I decided to focus more on diet to lose weight opposed to just training. I’ve been training training off and on since 2020 and consistently for the past year. I also play competitive pickleball twice per week.

All that to say, my primary goal with weight/waist is health. My secondary goal would be body composition (who doesnt want too looked jacked, lol). Im currently relatively lean in everywhere but my midsection, which is still carrying fat. And generally happy with my body composition other than my belly, although its improved during the recent weight loss.

My thought is that at this time weight loss should still be a priority. Is there a target weight/waist you would recommend I strive for prior to considering maintenance?

I think you’re pretty close to the target waist circumference for health, so anything further would be mostly personal preference. I think somewhere < 35” is a good target for many men, though individuals with Asian heritage should likely be lower.
