3-5 hour rule for protein ingestion

1.Is this a thing?
2. When does the rule trigger? Eg., when the stomach empties? When I stop chewing?
3. What makes it more 5ish and what makes it more 3ish?

OK. That answers a lot of questions. Lingering: What time interval counts as a meal? First bite or sip to stomach empty? Example: I eat a small amount of chicken and other things. 30 minutes later, I take some whey protein. Will MPS result from the whey ingestion, or just the chicken?

There aren’t really hard rules here, but the time interval I usually recommend is after you finish a meal. I wouldn’t snack on protein between meals, in general.
