46 y old with Shoulder Tendinitis from job

Hello, going into week 5 of Strength & Conditioning template and things are going well except my shoulders are flaring up and almost 100% certain it’s all due to my job catching up to me. I’m a rural mail carrier and for 5-6 hours day 5-6 x a week my shoulders are constantly moving, reaching, pulling, being raised, and hunched over as I drive a mail truck and deliver mail to 700 curbside mail boxes. On top of that I painted tall walls/ceilings for 10 hours on a day off this week. My shoulders just feel achy , sore, and inflamed with no acute injury. They bother me mostly on bench press lately, not standing presses or close grips. Some weeks they are fine though. I bought a Recoup Cryosphere cold massage ball to try out. Anything else I can do to help them? I’m really hoping to finish this template strong but unsure if I should still bench or if there is anything else I can do to bulletproof shoulders against tendinitis?

Am I perpetually doomed to this from my job? Should I be doing lying L-Fly’s/Shoulder rotations, just keep cold massaging them, taking Ibuprofen?

Any guidance is appreciated, thanks

Have you listened to / read much of our content on managing pain, training, and tendinopathy?

From several things that you’ve said in this comment, it sounds like you probably have not - and that would be our first recommendation.

I’ll have to try and somehow find it…
