I have been trying to get more consistent with tracking my food, especially rice, oats and other foods that are easy to eyeball wrong. I am thinking about getting a basic food scale that measures in grams and ounces. Does anyone here use one regularly? I came across this one on Amazon and it seems pretty simple but I would rather hear from people who actually use one before ordering.
I have used an older model of this for (yikes) over 12 years. OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel… Amazon.com: OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Food Scale with Pull-Out Display, 11-Pound NEWER VERSION AVAILABLE: Digital Kitchen Scales: Home & Kitchen . Mine looks a bit different and has more physical buttons. On mine (check the listing to see if features are still there, idk) I particularly like that I can easily switch between imperial and metric at any time, and that the display can be pulled out from the platform (useful with big bowls as for baking). The “light the screen on demand” button is also handy.
Good to know it is been working well for you, especially at that price. That sounds like exactly the kind of simple and reliable scale I am looking for.
