Hey docs, as I’ve been following BBM for a while, I had a few questions just about what you think, in your opinion, are the top things one can do for improving health outcomes over the long-term. One of the things I’m also curious about is how much does nutrition play a role in health outcomes as well? Obviously there are those who are pre-disposed to certain diseases and some foods may bring up symptoms, but how much does it actually affect mortality rate as far as the average person?
I also know that you guys have discussed that in the context of a diet, higher sugar diet isn’t necessarily harmful as long as someone is being compliant over a long period of time, but are there any other kinds of symptoms high sugar may cause? I’ve noticed sometimes after taking in higher sugar foods that my teeth will ache and will be sensitive when chewing as well. Could this be due to sugar intake? Or have I noceboed myself into thinking that? I know that psychological factors play a big role in the approach we take to training and nutrition in general, but I was curious as well to know how psychological factors play into our perception of disease and symptoms related to certain diseases as well.
Thanks again!
