Caloric Maintenance and Injuries Healing faster

I’ve heard that nutrition during injuries should be at around maintenance calories to support healing the injury faster. Which sounds reasonable to me. My question is does this logic extend to all types of bodily “injuries”. For example if i got a bunch of blisters when dieting would temporarily bumping my calories up to around maintenance heal the blisters quicker? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Nah, that’s just made up BS unless we’re talking about a burn injury or large surgical procedure. Increasing calories would likely have no effect on blisters. If it’s infectious or allergic, then that needs to be worked up by your doctor, of course.
