Carb/Sugar intake

Hello,

After reading your “To be a Beast article”, my calculated macros and after tracking for a few weeks realized that i struggle to hit my carb intake more than anything else. How would this affect my gainzzz? Additionally, I feel like I can hit the carb intake if I consumed more fast digesting carbs. Is there a level of sugar intake that I should watch out for and what would be some negative side effects of not staying under this sugar intake level.

Probably won’t affect your gainzZz at all unless you’re eating a very low carbohydrate diet. I would limit sugar to <10% of total daily calories.

Is sugar from fruit and vegetables a concern here? Five servings of blueberries and five servings of broccoli is already enough to hit 10% of calories from sugar on a 2300 calorie diet.

For sugar intake–does this include all forms such as sugars in fruits/veges or only added sugars?

I’m talking about added sugars in refined foods here. All non-fibrous carbohydrates turn into sugars, but I’m only talking about added sugars.
