Check my math, am I on the right track?

So I’ve finally decided I need to manage my eating a bit more systematically. I just started using MFP as my tracker app but want to make sure my macros are in the in the ballpark. My “vitals” are:

Age-44
Height-5’7’’
Weight-191-195 depending on the day
Waist-around 37"

For training I’m currently running Bridge 1.0, and starting to fold in an extra 1-2 days of conditioning in addition to the prescribed bridge program, current E1RM are:

Squat: 302#
Dead: 359#
(poverty) Bench: 166#
(poverty) Press: 130

Goal-wise I think my priority is reducing my waist circumference and hopefully either maintaining or increasing my strength level a bit. I’m not training for any type of lifting competition, just want to stay stronger for general overall health.

So using the chart in “To Be A Beast” it looks like I should target my daily intake based on 11.43-12.75 Cal/lb, 1.15-1.25 protein g/lb, 1-1.25 Carb g/lb, and .27-.35 fat g/lb

Are those decent starting points or are there other factors I’m missing that would skew these numbers in one direction or another?

JHawk,

Thanks for the post and I hope you’re well. The amount you should take in has a lot to do with how much you’re eating now. I think starting at 1g /lb protein and the rest of your existing calculations seem fine to me.
