Hey there BBM team!
I recently tried to get more into nutrition to decide how to eat optimally and god is it confusing to me.
I understand that being at a healthy bodyweight is very important.
I understand there are certain minimum amounts of each macronutrient you should get in you diet to be healthy(more protien than that for optimal muscle building) and it doesnt really matter from what macro ratio the rest of your calories come from(again, for health).
I also understand there are certain guidlines for red meat ,fiber, saturated fat and sugar consumption.
But i still dont know if there are certain guidlines on specific foods like chicken, soy or others.
Is there any benefit to eating less than 10% out of calories stturated fat & sugar? or eatin more than 30 grams of fiber per day?
I think my big quastion is: is there a certain place(book, article, video) that i can look at and understand the big picure of how and what should i eat?
There are no certain guidelines for other foods that we recommend outside of fruits and vegetables, fiber, protein, and saturated fat intake. This article sums up our current thinking about diet nicely:
Thank you very much!!
