Deadlifts haven’t grooved for awhile. Took a video today, bar path was vertical but looks like I’m dropping my hips too much at the start.
But does this even matter if bar path stays vertical? Does anything matter?

Your hips look a little high. It seems like they barely move vertically.
Is the bar touching your shins at the starting position?
It’s hard to tell because the plates are blocking the view. If the bar path is farther from your body then that may be causing you to work a lot harder at the beginning.
Bar is about an inch in front of shins, until I break my knees. Over the knot in my shoes. So starting position the bar is in contact. I’ve found in the past that a lower hip position results in a J shaped bar path. Feels okay on light weights but then becomes too inefficient on heavy stuff.
