Excess/Loose Skin

Hey docs. First off, I wanted to say thank you for all of the content and help you guys at BBM put out for free.

For some context on my situation, I was always overweight growing up and eventually landed around 330 lbs at 21 years old with very little strength or muscle mass. Over about a 5 year period, I dropped a little over 100 lbs with macro counting and a lot of running/boxing. For the last 2 years I’ve been maintaining around 225 lbs with 20-25% body fat and a 41 inch waist measurement at 6’2”(I’m 28 now).

More recently(for the last 2 years), I’ve been a lot more interested in strength training and I dropped the cardio workouts down to 2 times a week to do more resistance training. I’ve got around an 1100 lb total so far.

I would like to drop down to about 205 lbs for health/aesthetic reasons and don’t mind a short term loss of strength/muscle if need be. The only thing keeping me from doing this is the loose/excess skin. I’ve already got quite a bit of it from losing the original 100 lbs and am trying to avoid getting any more, leading to my questions.

  1. Do you guys know of any proven non-surgical methods to get rid of some of this excess skin? All I can find when google searching is “Do this one thing!” and “magic pill” type of links.

  2. What would you do in this situation?

Thanks again for all of your help!

Hey JFK,

Thanks for the post an welcome to the forum.

For your questions:

  1. There are none, unfortunately. That said, surgical procedures for this are pretty advanced at this point and tend to yield good results.

  2. I would recommend losing body fat, which fits your thought process about getting down to 205.

Ok great, thank you for the reply!
