Hi Jordan. You bring up the <40" waist recommendation for males quite frequently, but does data show a similar threshold for women who also want to reduce the risk for health issues? I was talking to my wife about this today (I’m currently at 43") and she asked me the recommendation for women and I realized I had no idea.
37" is what we use for women of non-Asian descent (34" is what we use for that).

Is the recommendation also lower for men of Asian descent? Is this due to average height or due to differences in body types regardless of height?
Yes, it’s 37"
The rationale is that the lower “cut-points” are more sensitive to determine those who are at risk for disease states secondary to obesity.
