Frequency how much does it matter ?

Is there a significant difference between training 3 days a week and training 4 or 5 days if volume and intensity are equal?

Could you still use the same level of rpe since you would be “ fresher “ on the higher frequency and I’m assuming able to handle higher weights ?

If you used the same RPEs, and hence higher weights when “fresher” … then intensity wouldn’t be equal anymore, would it?

well yes I fore saw that being a problem so I wasn’t sure if you would be able to prescribe the same level of RPE if you did a 3 day versus a 4 day? ( 4 day having reduce rpe values to allow for being fresher on more lifts )

but if intensity was consistent say with percentages does frequency matter?

Higher frequencies probably provide benefits from a skill standpoint, may provide benefits from a strength standpoint, but when volume-equated do not appear to provide benefits from a hypertrophy standpoint. Frequency is moreso a tool to help us distribute our weekly volume in a sustainable way.

Is there any downside to changing programming from less frequent to more frequent to reduce workout times?

The downside would be fewer rest days and the associated consequences of that. Which may or may not outweigh the benefit of reduced workout time, depending on the situation. Costs and benefits, as usual.
