Having trouble sleeping on a caloric deficit

Hi Jordan,

When I try to lose weight and cut carbs, I end up having trouble sleeping. Is this normal? Is this typically an indicator of too large of a deficit? Wondering what could be the solution to this?

I don’t think that a modest or even large deficit likely has any correlation to sleep duration or quality. Things are different at the end of prep for a physique competitor, but that’s not really what’s happening here IMO. I would be investigating sleep habits, stimulant use, stress, and other factors first.
