I’ve been powerlifting for 4 years. I’m addicted? Recently a CT taken for different reason showed 2 tiny hernias on either side of pubic bone. No pain. No bulging. I was so happy not to need surgery for the other reason I didn’t consider the consequences of the hernias at the time. The surgeon mentioned I might want to do less lifting. I’ll recontact him to get more definitive answer. My pers. trainer said to contact you. BTW, I’m 75. DL=160; squat=105. My weight=115. No health problems. I really want to keep lifting. What do you think?
It would appear that the benefits of strength training in your situation FAR outweigh any risks posed by completely asymptomatic, incidental hernias that could have been there for your entire life without you knowing about them until now
