How to prepare for lipid panel

What should I do to prepare for a standard lipid blood test?

Most advice I see is to fast for 9-12 hours. Is this the current advice?

I’m eating about 1g/lb protein, including lots of whey, and daily creatine. Continue?

How about training before the blood draw?

Fasting is reasonable in order to maximize the accuracy of triglyceride measurement, but has little impact on the remaining lipid panel parameters.

Your protein and creatine intake, as well as training, should not affect the test.
