Working on flat back in Deadlift, my upper back was very rounded, like one of those Halloween cats.
Have a coach.
Did a reset and accelerated lp and am much much stronger with better form.
However;
Form has improved but due to posture, anthropometry and ginormous traps I don’t necessarily foresee it ever getting “flat”.
Is rounding dangerous in any way?
Is there a point when you say “just do the best you can” and keep getting stronger" or do you keep focusing on form?
Upper back rounding is generally considered to be less of a problem than lower back rounding. But we can’t see your deadlift (and don’t do form checks on this forum) - you could post a video to the FB group to get some eyes on it if you’d like.
Thanks.
I’m not concerned about my form, as I said I have an in person coach for form.
I was just wondering specifically if there is anything actually dangerous about it and very generally what your philosophy is on balancing an individual’s “perfect” form vs progress.
I know we all have various oddities and almost everyone gets some “creep” eventually.
Unfortunately I don’t have a FB and my son has convinced me the privacy concerns preclude it. Otherwise I would have joined the group training.
I’d say that how dangerous a particular form problem is depends on the actual details of the problem. In other words, it can’t be answered in the abstract.
You can join FB with a fake name and other personal details. You can create a new gmail account that’s not your main account. At least that’s what I did a while back.
I understand what your saying. However I have never seen anyone get hurt pulling even with horrendous form. I’m sure it happens but I’m guessing it us uncommon.
It doesn’t prevent it from insidiously scraping shit off your phone though. You cannot have a FB account that isn’t invading your privacy. Just having the app running on your phone =bad.
