Excuse me if this has already been answered somewhere, and excuse me if im wrong, but from my (limited) understanding of hypertrophy:
- post-novice phase, volume is the biggest driver of hypertrophy
- we get diminishing returns on volume eventually
Does this mean that we’ve hit our genetic potential once we no longer see a response from increased volume? Is adding volume always the answer to more gainzz / pushing past a stall? Or are there other ways to progress once volume is pretty high.
Thanks for the content and help,
Jared

In all phases of training, there is a dose-dependent relationship between training volume and muscle hypertrophy provided the training stress can be tolerated.
If you’re not seeing a response from increased volume, there are a number of things that could be contributing to that. Volume is not always the answer, no, as programming is more complicated than “just add reps” or “just add 5lbs.”
