Hello! I am a vegan lifter and am aware of the stance you all have on this subject. I listen to all of your podcast I can and watch as much of the youtube content you put up as possible. On watching your most recent Seminar and hearing Jordan talk about leucine, my question is, if I am getting all of my protein from vegan sources ( soy isolates, pea protein isolates, both as powders and then seitan or wheat gluten ) should I be taking a leucine supplement with these meals? If the answer is yes, is there a brand you would recommend! Thanks for the advice.
I’d recommend taking a supplement with all Essential Amino Acids (EAA) with each meal. I don’t have a particular brand I like for these, but there are plenty to choose from.
Heard that, thank you very much. I feel like a lot of vegans can’t stand your straight-forwardness. I understand your stance and appreciate your advice. You never ever say “don’t be a vegan” sure you razz a little and say its not most “OPTIMAL” for the highest level of gains. But never in any of your talks have i heard you flat out say don’t do it. I appreciate it
It’s like telling someone, don’t be a certain religion or political affiliation. I don’t think it’s a good way to get through to people you know?
I agree strongveganchef. You’re always cool to us “more vegan” folks. It must be all that time you’re spending in Santa Cruz It’s harder for sure, but so far it’s not been impossible. I’m sure it would be even more difficult if I wanted to compete in powerlifting, but I don’t
I’m not sure if this would go against everything you believe in, but it would be great if you wrote an article on tips for vegans. I know you’ve already gave some helpful advice in other articles, but something very specific would be super helpful. I think most of us more vegan folks are stumbling through it as best we can. Thanks!
