Lose weight running the hypertrophy template while having minor injuries

Background info:
21 yo male
182 cm tall (5 ft 11 in)
81.5kg bw (179lb)
waistline: 86cm (33.8 inches)
years of lifting heavy: since 2016
current injuries: lower back pain since september
lifts: 160kg(352lb)/115kg(253lb)/205kg(451lb) S B D

Somewhat important information:

Im currently running the 12 week strength template and have been making good progress with the bench press. This is not the case for deadlift and squat because I tweaked my lower back a few weeks ago and cant even body weight squat to depth without pain. (Im doing leg press instead of any squat variation and deadlift with very low intensities). I have also some discomfort while doing heavy presses.
Since this template is best suited when the lifter has no injuries and can perform all of the lifts without discomfort I was thinking about switching to the hypertrophy template and also try to lose some fat because Im feeling some discomfort with my waistline. After the cut, I would switch again to the 12 wk strength template hoping my “injuries” are healed. (by hoping I mean I would do exercises that dont make me feel pain like leg presses, pin press and/or dumbbell press until I can reintegrate the squat, deadlift and press)

Actual question:

Im currently eating 2900-3000calories per day. I want to do a 6-7 week cut where I cut calories to 2200-2300calories and aim to lose about 3-4kg (10lb) and perhaps 1.5-2" off of my waist. Asking if it could be seen as too aggresive for the short period of time this is gonna last. (6 weeks for a 4kg weight loss).

Not so important question:

After the cut, how should I eat? I was planning on jumping to 2500 calories, stay there for 1-2 weeks and then slowly go to 2700-2800

Why do you want to cut? Your waist line is is about the same as mine…

I’d recommend maintenance mode and the hypertrophy template so you can build muscle (not lose it) and use that template as a way to get you back into training as you were.

Setting aside, for the moment, the OP’s waist circumference, would you ever recommend a male of nearly six foot to at 81.5 kilo try to lose weight at all? Wouldn’t it rather make more sense to get to heavier weight at around the same waist size?

I would recommend weight loss in this demographic if it improved their health or fit their goals.

It is unlikely that most will be able to gain significant amounts of weight with the same waist.
