I’m a 26 y/o male. At 6’4.5", I’ve been gaining weight steadily for a year now, and have gone from 185 to 230 in that time. Although on the whole I’m probably still underweight at my height, I have accumulated quite a significant amount of fat in this process. My waist is at 38", and although it’s hard to judge, my bf is almost certainly above 20%.
I’m currently running the press template (thanks for a great program). I’ve just finished the 9th week. I’m not going to compete, and am not especially interested in testing my maxes. So, I’m looking to run the GPP hypertrophy program whilst I cut away some fat.
So, can I ask:
(1) Do you think, with the given information, this is a reasonable plan? I’d obviously like to retain as much muscle and strength as I can.
(2) If so, at what point would you recommend shifting to the GPP template? I expect that I should skip the final week of the press template, but do you think it’s worth changing over any earlier than that?
