Hello, I have had some low back pain for over a year that originated from movements like squatting and deadlifting. It has gotten worse and worse, and by now I cannot do even a fews sets of bodyweight squats without having some aching the next day. I have seen many of BBM’s articles and videos and have tried to manage it on my own. I also bought the low back rehab template, and even using the easiest exercises in the program, the pain persisted. I think I may need to get some help on this one.
I have been following BBM for a while, so I am sure that your coaching would be a good idea. I wanted to first try to go to a doctor near me who I can talk with face to face. Maybe I could get some advice to steer me in the right direction. However, I have heard the stories of people doing this and being told they should stop lifting or that they will never be able to lift heavy again. So, my plan is to go to the doctor initially, then maybe get BBM coaching to help me the rest of the way. Does this plan seem reasonable?
Hi Colton! Sorry to hear about your experience with your low back pain. I do not think that going to a primary care doctor would likely add value to your situation or help guide your treatment. If you have been unable to adapt the low back pain template to meet your needs, I do think in this case a remote consultation would likely be the best in order to allow us the time to talk through your specific situation and provide you with a treatment and training recommendations. When you are ready, you can fill out this consultation form here. We look forward to talking with you to help guide the path forward.
@ColtonG In addition to the BBW pain treatment and training recommendations, I would also consider Acupuncture. I know it it isn’t mainstream but it works wonders for my low back pain and elbow pain. I had really bad sciatica about 18 mos ago. Dr gave me steroids, I tried resting, went to a Chiro, did all the stretches and BS people post on YouTube - nothing worked for 6+ mos. 3 acupuncture treatments and it was gone in 3 weeks.
Thank you, Hannah. I have now filled out the intake form and have bought the package for a consult and a month of coaching. I’m super excited. I just wanted to ask if anyone on this forum has gotten pain and rehab coaching and how it went for them. Or is there a place on the internet I can go to talk to others who have gotten the coaching. Just wanted to get a preview of what it is like and see success stories of others.
This is really similar to my symptoms. Nothing during training, but the next day I have pain in my low back and down what feels like my SI joints, but I’m sure it’s just nerve stuff. It’s been quite persistent and doesn’t go away with any stretching. Sometimes psoas pressure helps it but hard to say if I’m just distracting with other pain
