Mid back pain during cardiovascular exercise

Hello! I have a strange pain in my mid back on one side by my rib cage. At first I thought it was a muscle strain but now I’m not so sure. I don’t experience any pain at any particular range of motion. I can deadlift pain free and move in any direction without triggering pain. The most common way the pain starts is while walking. The pain starts out mild and increases in intensity the longer I walk. I would describe the pain as a deep tightness in that area. When I stop walking the pain usually subsides quickly. It’s stopped me from doing the incline walking i typically do in the gym for cardiovascular exercise. I’m starting to think it’s possible the pain is coming from my kidney but I’m not sure. Ive been told from blood tests that I have increased renin activity but had a normal contrast mri. Any tips on where to start to alleviate this pain would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Unfortunately this is something that really requires a formal consultation or professional evaluation. The primary concern here would be a cardiovascular issue. We don’t know enough about you (age, medical history / risk factors, details of other testing) to provide much guidance beyond this, but it is less likely to be directly related to your kidney or renin activity.
