My squat outweighs my deadlift...

Hi there,

I’m entering my 4th month of SSLP and my squat is going to be at 300 for work sets soon while my deadlift is only 275. I’m currently still making the 5 pound increase 3X/week on squats and 5 pounds every deadlift day, but I’m doing deadlifts every second training day. The deadlifts are often quite difficult to do because they’re of course done after my squats, which get harder every day too. On the non-deadlift days I am doing pendlay rows for 3 sets of 8 reps and am increasing 5 pounds every time too. I know it’s not a big deal, but does that seem like a normal progression?

Also I expect my progress to start stalling over the next month or so and want to move on to something else. I was thinking the 7 week Hypertrophy would be a good start.

I’d first make sure you aren’t squatting high, and I’d next make sure your deadlift setup isn’t markedly inefficient (e.g., hips too high or similar) before making any other judgments here.
