Nerds vs Jocks

This is maybe a strange question, but why are people who work in “nerdier” professions (accountants, programmers, scientists, etc) often less athletic and physically fit than people who work in less nerdy professions? Obviously there’s a ton of exceptions, but usually when I meet so-called “nerds” (for example Google software engineers, AP physics students in high school, etc) they tend to have more slender body types (small frames, skinny fat, etc) and fit the “nerd” phenotype while people who look like “jocks” usually don’t work in nerdy fields and instead work in fields that require more soft skills (e.g. sales) or blue collar professions. I would imagine there’s no correlation between athletic ability and IQ/academic ability but maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it comes down to personality traits e.g. nerds care less about sports than others. I remember Jordan even making a joke about it, giving an accountant as an example of someone to the left of the athletic spectrum.
