I am a female, 4’11, 112 lbs, 20% BF. I ran the SSLP for about two months and topped my 3x5 squat at 185lbs and triple at 205. I know I could have milked more out of my LP, but overall I am very pleased with my current strength progress. My goals are more aesthetically focused than they are strength focused but I do wish to be fairly strong. I do not wish to compete in powerlifting or any body building/ bikini shows, but I do wish to grow certain aspect of my physique more than others, (Glutes, back etc.) My question to you is with me still wanting to get strong but not being in any hurry about it and having certain aesthetic goals, would a HLM program that is built around the main lifts, but allows me to do other movements for things like growing my back or glutes still be an effective program? If this is not the case is there a certain style of programing or some knowledgeable female lifters you could point me in the direction of that have similar goals? Sorry if this is confusing, I just feel like there is so much nonsense on how women should train as far looks/ strength go and I know I can ask you for a no bs answer. Thanks for the post. I think a program should still revolve around the main lifts and probably contribute more total volume to leg and back training than a powerlifting or strength focused programming. That said, I think that there are extremely limited resources in the female training arena who I would be okay vetting in this application. I know, I know, that is dangerous of me to say without being labeled a misogynist, but quite the contrary. I am hoping that more women become experts in this field and that more options will present themselves for lifters looking for guidance.

I will definitely seek coaching in the future but, given my current situation (part-time job, college) i’m not able to so. In the mean time I’ll keep listening to you guys and keep waiting on that hypertrophy glute program to drop lol.
