I had a question after listening to your recent podcast on osteoporosis. Do isometric loads have a positive effect on bone health as well or does it have to be loads being moved through a significant range of motion? Specific context in my case, is my mother in law only has access to a bowflex for resistance aside from her body weight exercises. I just tried it out and due to its accommodating resistance there is full resistance/load only for a very minimal amount of the range of motion, and that range being at the very top of the lift in the main compound movements where it was much easier.
Isometric exercises, sufficiently loaded for the individual, can certainly elicit bone adaptation as well as strength improvements.
Ok cool, thank you!
