Pain in left glute area - usually only at night

Hi Doctors,

Thank you for all your great work at BBM. It has been incredibly valuable and transformative to me over the past year and a half or so.

I’ve been rotating between BBM strength and hypertrophy training for over a year now. My biggest issue was acclimating to RPE and learning not to overshoot (especially on singles). I am running Strength I, Week 11 right now and this is the first block where I’ve kept myself pretty honest with RPE. Current 1rms are 340 s, 250 b, 440 d. I’m male, 5’10", 207lbs, 34.5 inch waist.

Over the last month or so, I have had a strange pain in my left glute area. It feels like what people describe as sciatica pain, and can be felt down the leg (above the knee). As far as I can tell, it is never aggravated by squats, deadlifts, or any other exercise movement. I will occasionally feel sporadic twinges of the pain during the day, but it is generally only felt at night, in the last couple hours before bed. It is a dullish pain, maybe a 4 out of 10. I haven’t found any position (standing, sitting, lying down) to make it better or worse.

I am curious if you have any insight about what this could possibly be or what (if anything) I should do about it. I realize that I have probably given random and incomplete information, so please let me know if I can share any other information that might help shed light on this. Thank you so much!
