Permabulker

I’m 31, been training barbells properly for 2 years (2 years of bodybuilding.com nonsense before that).
Current stats: 6’5", 230 lbs, about 17% BF, 38" waist.
1 Year ago: 6’5", 210 lbs, about 15% BF, about 36" waist

Questions:

  1. Given my height and overall goals of size and strength, are 38" waist and 18% BF too high, given that anecdotally I feel great and have been making some good progress towards my goals?
  2. The numbers add up to be roughly 50/50 of lean/fat gain, assumption is that the 10 lbs of fat probably added the 2" to my gut, does that given me an indication of lean/fat gain ratios going forward? And if so, should that inform programming decisions as i hit markers or finish a program at certain weight/BF/etc? maybe moving to the Bodybuilding template at maintenance calories next?

Thanks and I expect some nuance!

  1. I think 38" waist is too high, yes. I’d like to see it under 37".
  2. I don’t think that relationship is that tight or linear. I would use changes in anthropometry to adjust nutrition intake and conditioning…maybe programming from a physique development standpoint.

Sounds great thanks!
As always i appreciate your insight.
