Bodyfat

Hey Jordan,

Thanks for all the help you provide us, both on nutrition and the more technical stuff. It really is beneficial information that you provide over here at BBM.
I am just wondering, with your expert eye are you able to determine a bf% by appearence? And if so, what would you predict my bf%? I have done online calculations that put me around 25-30% but i cant be sure myself. My weight is around 195lb, waist 39.5", height 5’10".

I have recently posted how i lost weight at 2,500cals but lifts while on SSNLP kind of stalled out. The feedbavk i got over at the Starting Strength forum was i am not eating anywhere near enough and need to be eating alot more to get my lifts up pronto. I’m not sure given my body composition that eating more is the way to go.

once again, thanks for the work you guys do and keep it up. The detail and content is excellent.

Hey Tate,

Best I can tell from here is you are ~25% body fat. If your waist measured correctly is 39.5" you should lose some weight .

The feedback you received from the SS forum is, of course, incorrect.

An interesting thought, why does it matter whether your LP stalls a at 255 vs 305 squat (hypothetically)? Which one predicts better long term success? I would make the argument that it doesn’t matter where you end up in 3 months (NLP), but rather the goals of a novice program are to set you up for success down the road.

Notice the lack of people squatting >500 who ran out LP to the bitter end. Maybe we shouldn’t place so much importance on loading within the first 3 months of training.
