Hi,
Any good research on exercise, both resistance & cardio, in the postoperative period following transsphenoidal pituitary surgery? (resection of GH secreting adenoma).
There seems to be a wide variation in advice given by different care providers. Some say don’t lift any more than 10lbs for 12 weeks - which seems like an arbitrary figure. I understand that it mostly centres on avoiding any build up of intracranial / sphenoid sinus pressure - so an RPE10 squat is probably not a good call.
In terms of cardio, advice here is usually very vague too, for example, what is “strenuous” exercise. And I’m to too sure what specifically one would be trying to avoid, e.g. high heart rate, high blood pressure, general fatigue…
[Typical post-op medication is hydrocortisone & antibiotics.]
Cheers,
Andy
