One of my clients had an emergency hysterectomy 10 years ago. She is 42 now. She took hormone replacement therapy for 5 years post-op but has not taken any the last 5 years. She recently started the SSLP (4 weeks ago) after bring sedentary for 2 years. She is now experiencing hot flashes. Coincidence or related to the SSLP? She is considering restarting the hormone therapy. Ideas? Recommendations?
Why did she need the hysterectomy? Why did she need hormone therapy? Did she also undergo bilateral oophorectomy? Has she seen her physician about these hot flashes?
She had non-malignant tumors on her ovaries and they recommended a full hysterectomy to be safe. I am not sure why they recommended and prescribed the hormone therapy.
She is scheduled to see her GYN tomorrow to get her hormone levels checked and discuss possible replacement therapy.
Thanks in advance for any information. Obviously you don’t have the whole picture but I thought it would be good to get another opinion.
Yes, she needs to see her GYN, as we have far too little information to work off of. However, training is not likely to be causing her hot flashes.
