Powerbuilding 1 - LISS and HIIT

Hi all,

I’ve been running PB1 for a couple years now. Any other recommended HIIT exercises other than rowing or sprinting? Also, for LISS, what zone of intensity should I be in?

For High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), you probably have to use a traditional conditioning modality like running, ski erg, rowing, cycling, elliptical, stairs, etc. for aerobic intervals and tempo work. Sled work, battle ropes, etc. would all work for Sprint Interval Training (SIT) as well.

Regarding intensity for Low Intensity Steady State (LISS), we’d recommend ~ 60-80% max HR be the target, though there’s some squish in there. Check this article (below the calculator) for more discussion.

Lastly, I’m betting you’d like the new Powerbuilding 1 Second Generation program if you still like this general setup. Might be worth considering an update!
