Proper Nutrition Help

After reading through forums and videos, hopefully I can answer my own question:

23 year old male, 5’10”, 158 lbs, 36.5” waist circumference. I come out to a BMI of ~22.6

I’ve been training on/off for 3-4 years but never consistently trained. Barbell training is fairly new to me and I’m right under 135lbs in Squat and Deadlift. OHP is <65 lbs. I am running LP at the moment.

I believe I should be in a slight caloric surplus and gain weight but my current visceral fat is a concern. So should I be more in maintenance? My goal is to gain muscle size and increase my general strength.

Thank you for all the amazing information and the lessons!

I would slowly increase your BW while you train your ass off. Use a better program than LP.

Gotcha! Would you recommend Bridge 3.0. Thanks again bro!

Sure- bridge 3.0 or 1.0 would be a fine move here.

Hey Jordan,

After reading through To Be A Beast… I’m lining up your recommendation of slowly gaining BW with Case #2: The measured novice.

Is this the right frame of nutrition to follow as reference? (So around 16.9kCal per lb. of current body weight) Could this be rendered useful for let’s say 0.5 lb of body weight gain per week?

It depends what you’re eating right now, but theoretically this could work. Only one way to find out!
